Over 50 full-time and part-time jobs have been lost following the appointment of a liquidator to a supermarket in Co Monaghan.
Musgrave's has confirmed that they have decided to cease trading with McConnon's SuperValu in Castleblayney and appoint a liquidator.
As a result 40 full-time jobs and 15 part-time jobs have gone.
Today a group of staff, customers and locals staged a protest outside the shop in the centre of the town.
The owner of the shop, Jim McConnon has accused Musgrave of operating in a "completely underhand" manner.
He maintained that they had been in talks with the company for some time to plan a way forward but at the same time they were planning to pull the plug on them.
A spokesperson for Musgrave said the decision was taken to protect the SuperValu brand and "minimise future exposure for our business."
