Apple CEO Tim Cook in China for talks

Apple CEO Tim Cook is in China for talks with Chinese officials.

This is Cook's first visit to China since he took over from the late Steve Jobs in August.

Questions have been raised in the US about conditions for workers in Apple suppliers in the country.

Apple is also in a battle with Samsung to capture the Chinese market.

A spokeswoman for Apple said that "China is very important to us and we look forward to even greater investment and growth there."

Mr Cook is to meet Beijing's mayor and visit Apple's flagship store in the capital.

China is the world's largest mobile market and already Apple's second biggest market overall, but the firm has been losing ground to arch rival Samsung.
