Gardaí to probe Quinn lorry blaze

Garda forensic experts will examine a lorry which went on fire at the Quinn Packaging plant in Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, last night to determine if the blaze was deliberate or accidental.

The area around the truck is sealed off pending the examination.

The truck went on fire at around 9pm and no one was injured.

There have been a number of incidents where vehicles were set on fire at businesses formerly owned by Seán Quinn, while property has also been damaged in a number of criminal attacks.

Gardaí say it is too early at this stage to say whether this latest incident is connected to those attacks.
