ESB Networks has denied claims that it will be cutting all power supplies to the Priory Hall apartment complex in the Dublin suburb of Donaghmede.

Disconnections were carried out in December relating to non-payments to other providers.

There had been previous safety concerns over water in the switch room, which could have lead to a disconnection, but that was resolved two weeks ago.

The situation is being monitored.

Residents were ordered to leave their apartments four months ago because of concerns over fire safety.

Last night, Dublin City Council informed them that the ESB is to cut power to the complex.

They voiced concerns that if pumps being used to drain water from the complex stopped working, the condition of their apartments will deteriorate further.
