Around 10,000 people are expected to attend a jobs fair at the Mansion House in Dublin over the weekend.
Up to 2,500 job vacancies are being advertised at Career Zoo which is aimed at recruiting qualified professionals and graduates.
Some 60 Irish and international companies and organisations are taking part in the exhibition.
The social networking company Twitter is seeking to increase staff at its European headquarters in Dublin, while other technology companies based in Ireland, including Amazon, Paypal, AOL and McAfee, are also looking to fill positions.
The financial services company Ernst & Young is seeking to fill 300 jobs. Deloitte is recruiting 40 new staff.
Consultancy firm Accenture, which recently announced 100 new jobs, is hoping to fill some of those roles this weekend.
Electronic company Valeo Vision Systems based in Galway will be looking to fill over 100 positions over the next 12 months.
The pharmaceutical group Abbott, which announced the creation of 175 jobs in Sligo this week, is hoping to fill some of those roles as well as 90 other positions.
The event is taking place today and tomorrow. Admission is free.
