Six men are being questioned following the seizure of around €1.5m worth of drugs in two separate garda operations in Dublin.

Four men were arrested tonight after a raid on a cannabis cultivation facility near Ballyboughal, where 20kg and 1,500 plants were found.

The arrests and seizures are the result of two separate Garda National Drugs Unit investigations into a Dublin drug trafficking gang and an Asian-run cannabis factory.

It was supported by local drug units in Ballyfermot, Balbriggan and Coolock.

Officers raided industrial premises at Richardstown, a rural part of Ballyboughal, at 7pm this evening.

The drugs seized have an estimated value of €840,000.

The four men arrested are 41, 38, 30 and 21, and are believed to be from China.

Detectives believe one was controlling the facility, while the three others were "gardeners".

They are being questioned at Raheny and Santry garda stations.

Earlier, two men were arrested after drugs, worth an estimated €650,000, were found in an apartment in Inchicore.

The men, aged 35 and 54, were arrested as part of a joint operation by the Ballyfermot and Garda National Drugs Units.

Around 6,000 ecstasy tablets, 4kgs of cannabis, and small quantities of heroin and cocaine were found.

The men are being held at Kevin Street and Kilmainham garda stations.
