A 25-year-old man sustained a facial injury in a shooting incident in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

A 25-year-old man sustained a facial injury in a shooting incident in Blanchardstown in Dublin yesterday evening.

Gardai say as a result of an emergency call they went to a house on Whitestown Avenue.

They discovered the man with a gunshot wound to his face.

Gardaí arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the incident which occurred at Whitestown Park.
