The chief technology officer for Adobe, Kevin Lynch, told RTÉ News that its new Creative Cloud data centre would be established in Dublin later this year.

Mr Lynch made the comments after a 30 minute meeting with Taoiseach Enda Kenny on the margins of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The software company already has a base in Dublin's Citywest and its Irish registered Adobe Software Trading Company, which acts as a holding company for many international subsidiaries, reported revenues of €1.1 billion in 2009 and a net profit of €384.5m.

Adobe Systems Software Ireland employs 94 people in Ireland.

Bill Rusitzky, Adobe's Vice President, said it was too early to say how many new jobs would be created in the new "hosted services" data centres.
