Business news agency Bloomberg reports that Facebook is considering a significant expansion of its Irish operations ahead of a possible flotation.
The Bloomberg report quoted "three people with knowledge of the matter" as saying that Facebook was looking to more than double the size of its European headquarters in Dublin as it prepares for a possible $10 billion initial public offering.
The report said Facebook may move and lease as much as 11,150 square metres of office space in Dublin over five years.
Facebook, which set up its Dublin office at Hanover Quay in 2008, currently occupies about 5,000 square metres of space.
Bloomberg quoted its sources as saying that the former Bank of Ireland headquarters building is among the property options being considered.
