Firearms and cannabis seized at Dublin Port

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, assisted by Dublin Port Security, have seized firearms, ammunition and drugs at Dublin Port.

Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, assisted by Dublin Port Security, seized three firearms, two of which were loaded, a quantity of ammunition and 1.5kg of cannabis at Dublin Port this afternoon.

The firearms, ammunition and drugs, which were deeply concealed within the vehicle, were discovered by Customs Officers when the vehicle was searched.

The firearms are currently undergoing forensic analysis; the vehicle was also seized.

Follow-up enquiries are being conducted by gardaí at Store Street Garda Station and investigations are ongoing.
