A 31-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of Paul Kelly in Clontarf four years ago.

Mr Kelly, 26, was shot 11 times at the Winstonville apartments on Charlemont Road in Clontarf on the night of 6 April 2007.

At the Central Criminal Court this afternoon, Michael Taylor from Summerhill was convicted of the murder by a majority verdict.

The trial heard that two men in balaclavas and gloves were seen fleeing the scene after Mr Kelly sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the lobby of the building.

A glove found nearby had DNA matching that of Michael Taylor.

There was also mobile phone evidence and the prosecution said the motive for the murder was a feud between the Taylor and Kelly families.

Mr Justice Barry White said he will sentence Michael Taylor to the mandatory life in prison next week after hearing a victim impact statement from the Kelly family.
