The Supreme Court will hear Ian Bailey's appeal against his extradition to France later this month.

Mr Bailey is appealing against the High Court's decision to order his extradition in connection with the killing of French film-maker, Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

Five Supreme Court judges will hear the appeal, which is due to begin on 15 November and last for three days.

Lawyers for the State told the Chief Justice, Ms Justice Susan Denham today that there may be "some developments outside the control of the State" which may impact on the appeal.

Mr Bailey, 53, from The Prairie, Schull, Co Cork, has denied any involvement in the murder of Ms Toscan du Plantier whose body was discovered near her holiday home in Schull in December 1996.

He was not in court today when the case was briefly mentioned.
