Four miners have been found dead inside the flooded Gleision Colliery near Swansea in Wales.

A fourth miner has been found dead inside the flooded Gleision Colliery near Swansea in Wales.

The bodies of the four men have so far not been recovered.

Rescue workers found the first man overnight but were unable to recover his body from the flooded shaft.

Three men escaped from the small Gleision Colliery following the accident yesterday and one was taken to hospital.

They said a wall to an old working had failed, flooding the main 250 metre route into the mine.

Rescue workers pumped water out of the flooded shaft to remove debris blocking the way.

Local MP Peter Hain said the families of the missing miners had gone through a "small hell".
