While the 11 September attacks affected thousands of families all over the world, their impact on one family from Cork was truly remarkable... perhaps even unique.
Mark and John Clifford lost their sister Ruth and her four-year old daughter Julianna when their hijacked plane crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Centre.
Remarkably, even in the midst of this tragedy, the Cliffords also had cause to celebrate as their brother Ronnie was about to enter a meeting at the World Trade Centre when the first plane crashed there. He escaped with minor burns and injuries.
At home in Cork, as they prepared to mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11, Southern Editor Paschal Sheehy has been speaking to Mark and John Clifford.
