Four Irish activists who had hoped to sail to Gaza as part of an international effort to deliver humanitarian aid are back in Ireland.

The Greek government has banned the flotilla from sailing to Gaza from Greece. It has offered to use its own ships to sail humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Irish activists who returned to Dublin are angry and disappointed at not being able to play their part in the international flotilla trying to break the blockade of Gaza.

They were offered places on the Italian boat in the flotilla but it has been blocked from sailing by the Greek coastguard.

Last week their ship the MV Saoirse was damaged in Turkey when a chunk had been taken out of the propeller shaft.

Another ship was also damaged.
