Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Richard Bruton has said that legislation to reform the Joint Labour Committee system of setting wages for certain sectors will not be brought into the Dáil until after the summer recess.
Minister Bruton said vulnerable workers would continue to be protected as the Government only wanted to reform the system.
He said there were misunderstandings about reforms in relation to Sunday working and said that workers were already protected for Sunday working.
Mr Bruton also told the Dáil that existing workers were protected by their employment contracts.
