Minister for Health Dr James Reilly has agreed to meet one of the country's leading surgeons next week.

The meeting has been arranged with Pat Kiely to discuss a way of fast-tracking operations for young people who have been left on waiting lists.

A recent RTÉ programme Prime Time highlighted how many people are struggling while they are forced to stay on waiting lists for operations.

As a result of the programme a donor came forward offering to pay for over ten operations.
