A new book featuring detailed analysis of Election 2011, the stories of the campaign and profiles of all TDs of the 31st Dáil has been published by RTÉ News.
'Election 2011 and the 31st Dáil' was compiled by the team from The Week in Politics and edited by Deirdre McCarthy.
At the book launch, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said he is looking forward to reading the book.
The election was the perfect democratic ambush because in Ireland people did not take to the streets to protest like in other countries, but used their 'peann luaidhes' to vote out the government, he said.
The book is a social history of sorts as it tells the story of politicians of the next 20 years and for the last 20 years, he added.
