The search for the body of a man in the waters off Ballybunion in Co Kerry continued today.
It is believed Stephen Godson-Ukiwu from west Africa took his own life after killing his partner.
A specialist garda team spent six hours negotiating with Mr Godson-Ukiwo at cliffs in Ballybunion on Tuesday.
24-year-old Polish national Katazaryna Bartowiak was found dead at their home in Tralee on the same day.
Preliminary post mortem results indicate that she was strangled.
Mr Godson-Ukiwu was in his 30s and originally from the Republic of Benin.
