A new company has been formed from UCC, having been fostered by one of the university's research centres.
ThinkSmart Technologies has invented a system which mixes maths and artificial intelligence to speed up decision-making in companies. It has emerged from UCC's Cork Constraint Computer Centre.
UCC has licensed its intellectual property to the company. ThinkSmart chief executive Dr Brendan O'Brien said the company expected to recruit up to 30 graduates over the next three years as it developed.
The company has already secured a number of customers in areas such as financial services and energy.
