European appointment for HSE's Gerry O'Dwyer

A senior administrator with the HSE has been elected to the professional body representing healthcare managers across Europe.

A senior administrator with the Health Service Executive has been elected to the professional body representing healthcare managers across Europe.

Gerry O'Dwyer is the first Irish person to be elected to the position of Vice President of the European Association of Hospital Managers.

Mr O'Dwyer, from Kinsale in Co Cork, is regional Director of Operations for the HSE in Dublin and Mid-Leinster.

He is a former Chief Executive of Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin and was also Hospital Network Manager for the HSE South.

The European Association of Hospital Managers has members is 28 countries.

He has been congratulated on his election by the President of the Health Management Institute of Ireland, Richard Dooley.
