The High Court has issued a letter of request to the High Court in Northern Ireland seeking its recognition for the court protection given to Aer Arann in this jurisdiction.

An examiner was appointed to the airline last week and similar letters were issued by the High Court to the High Courts of Wales, England and the Isle of Man.

The court heard this afternoon that, at that time, Aer Arann had no aircraft in Northern Ireland, but it now has planes flying into Derry and Belfast.
