MBNA to cut 66 jobs in Carrick-on-Shannon

66 jobs are to go at credit card company MBNA in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.

The job cuts will be in the form of compulsory redundancies.

Workers were told today that the cuts are due to a restructuring of the business because of the economic downturn.

Around 1,000 people work for MBNA in Ireland - the majority are based in Carrick-on-Shannon.
