Police in Downpatrick are investigating an alleged assault in which a 22-year-old man was injured.
The man sustained head and facial injuries in the incident which occurred on Fountain Street at around 1.45am this morning.
He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
The area was sealed off for a forensic examination.
