50 new jobs in Dublin promised by Kellogg's

Cereal company Kellogg's is to create 50 high-end jobs in Dublin, bringing staff levels to 250 by the end of the year.

The company has had its European headquarters in Ireland for five years. It is hiring staff for sales, marketing, finance and supply-chain positions.

The company says it is building a 'centre of excellence' to support its teams in local markets.

Kelloggs has a market share in Ireland of close to 60%.

The Irish eat the most cereal in the world per capita, at 8kg a year.

The second biggest consumer of cereal in the world is the UK, at 7kg per year.

The company employs 31,000 staff worldwide.
