Employers have issued a positive assessment of how international companies view Ireland as an attractive location to do business.

Employers' group IBEC has said that Ireland has, once again, become a favoured location for foreign direct investment.

In a report entitled 'Ireland, A Place To Do Business', IBEC says there is a need for measures to boost the domestic economy and to eliminate the development of a two-speed recovery, with a thriving export sector but sluggish domestic demand.

The employers are calling on the Government to put in place a well-targeted public capital investment programme.

They also want to ensure that any changes to the tax system promote consumer confidence and encourage a return to more normal spending and saving patterns.
