A 20-year-old man has appeared before Naas Dictrict Court after a garda was knocked down near Punchestown in Co Kildare in the early hours of the morning.
Shane Hanbury from Cloonmore Park in Tallaght in Dublin was charged with dangerous driving.
Mr Hanbury was remanded at Cloverhill Prison to appear before the court again on Wednesday 14 July.
The garda, who had been on duty for the Oxegen music festival, was hit by a car that failed to stop at a checkpoint at 1.30am.
He was was treated for head injuries at Naas General Hospital and released early this morning.
The car was intercepted by gardaí near Castledermot in Co Kildare a short time after the incident.
Two other men questioned about the incident were released without charge.
