Around 12,000 people took part in this year's Dublin Pride Parade this afternoon.

The theme of this year's parade was 'We Are Family Too'.

This year's grand marshal was Dr Lydia Foy, a transgender woman who recently had her right to be legally recognised as a woman on her birth cert accepted by the Government, when it dropped its appeal to a High Court ruling in her favour.

The parade started at 2pm from the Garden of Rememberance and travelled down O'Connell St, onto D'Olier St, College St, Dame St, Lord Edward St, Christchurch and Wine Tavern St.
