Two men have died in separate car crashes in counties Wicklow and Tyrone.

One man died following a car crash near Enniskerry in Co Wicklow.

The incident happened at around 6am when the car he was driving left the road at the Glencree Reconciliation Centre.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to St Colmcille's Hospital Loughlinstown.

It is understood he was in his early 20s.

The passenger in the car, a 25-year-old man, was taken to St Vincent's Hospital with injuries described as serious.

Military Road was closed while an examination was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí in Bray are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

The second man died in an early morning road crash at Dunteige Road outside Omagh in Co Tyrone.

21-year-old Michael Nugent from the Mountjoy area of Omagh was the sole occupant of a car which left the road shortly before 6.30am.

Police have appealed for information.
