A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a leading loyalist in Belfast yesterday.
It is thought the murder may have been linked to tensions between rival loyalist paramilitaries.
44-year-old Bobby Moffett had strong links to the UVF and was well known in loyalist paramilitary circles.
He was shot dead by two gunmen in broad daylight on the Shankill Road in full view of shoppers and children.
It is thought Mr Moffett was lured to his death by an offer to discuss a personal dispute with another loyalist paramilitary, and had agreed to a meeting in a public place in the belief he would be in no danger.
After the shooting, police launched a full scale murder inquiry and last night arrested a man in the Belfast area.
The 40-year-old man is being held in the PSNI's Serious Crime Suite in Antrim for questioning about the killing.
