Over 2,000 complaints were made by members of the public to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission last year.
The Commission's annual report released this morning shows that one garda was convicted and another 146 were disciplined last year following complaints.

A quarter of the allegations related to abuse of authority and another quarter related to neglect of duty, 18% for discourtesy and 15% for non-fatal offences against the person.
This breakdown is similar to the previous year.
The Garda Commissioner referred over 100 incidents where the conduct of a garda resulted in death or serious injury to the Ombudsman for investigation.
More than half of these incidents resulted in road traffic accidents.
