A Dublin-based priest has been convicted of sexually abusing three young sisters in Northern Ireland.
Fr Eugene Lewis is the former provincial superior of the Society of Missionaries of Africa, better known as the White Fathers, who was based at Cypress Grove House, Templeogue in Dublin.
He was found guilty by a jury at Omagh Crown Court of 11 counts of indecently assaulting the three sisters between August 1963 and September 1973.
The charges cover a period when Lewis lived at the White Fathers' College, Blacklion, Co Cavan.
During the six-week trial the 76-year-old denied all the charges and described the claims of abuse as 'absolute rubbish'.
He will be sentenced next month.
