Irish twins Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf, who were separated earlier this month, remain in a stable condition in the intensive care unit at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the hospital said the boys were making daily progress.

The spokesperson said the twins were 'broadly where the medical team expected them to be at this point'.

The boys, born on 2 December 2009, were joined at the chest but did not share any major organs.
