Two people have died after separate crashes in counties Wexford and Kilkenny.
In Co Wexford, a man died after being hit by a car at around 2am this morning.
Gardai believe the 23-year-old had been involved in a single vehicle accident a short time earlier.
Both incidents occurred at a sharp bend under a railway bridge near Glynn, six kilometres from Wexford town.
The man who died was from the locality and had been standing in the vicinity of his car when he was struck.
He was taken by ambulance to Wexford General Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Fatal crash in Kilkenny
In Co Kilkenny, a pedestrian died last night after being hit by a car at Julianstown, Castlecomer.
The pedestrian, who was 67, died after he was hit by a car on the Kilkenny to Castlecomber road (N77) at around 10.30pm last night.
He was removed to St Luke's General Hospital Kilkenny, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
The road was closed for a time while gardaí carried out a technical examination. It has since been reopened.
Easter holiday road deaths
So far four people have died on the roads over the Easter holiday period.
In Co Louth, a 70-year-old motorist died after his car was in collision with another vehicle at Lismanus on the Dunleer Road yesterday afternoon.
And in the early hours of yesterday morning, a 30-year-old man died after the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree on the Pallasgreen-Cappamore Road in Co Limerick.
A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital after the car in which she was travelling collided with a truck at Ballyroan in Co Laois two days ago.
11 people died on the roads in March, the lowest monthly figure recorded since records began, 40 years ago.
