Woman tied up and robbed in Louth home

A woman in her early 40s was tied up and threatened in her home in Louth last night by three masked men.

The men entered the house on Commons Road, Dromiskin, shortly after 9pm.

Gardaí said the three wore dark clothing and had their faces covered. They escaped with a small amount of cash and some electronic items.

The woman, who was on her own at the time, managed to free herself and raise the alarm.

She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but later released with minor injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the Commons Road between 8pm and 9.30pm last night and may have noticed anything unusual to contact Ardee Garda Station on 041-6871139 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666111.
