The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a 19-year-old Irishman has drowned in Australia.
Damien Crosby, from Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, is understood to have died while swimming with his cousin in a reservoir in Queensland.
The alarm was raised at around 5pm yesterday evening, and his body was recovered early this morning.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is offering consular assistance to the young man's family.
