Speaking at a naming ceremony for the twins, Hassan and Hussein, this afternoon, their mother Angie Benhaffaf said their doctors have decided on 7 April next as the date for their operation.
Mrs Benhaffaf appealed to people to keep the twins in their thoughts on that date.
Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf were born at University College Hospital in London last December and since then they have been thriving.
A team of specialists is being assembled at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children where the operation to separate the twins will be performed.
This afternoon a naming ceremony for the boys was held at the Go Safari children's activity centre, where Mrs Benhaffaf made the announcement about the date for the operation to separate them.
The twins are now three-and-a-half months old and weigh around 17 pounds. Angie Benhaffaf said the family has received huge support from the public.
The Benhaffaf family will leave Ireland tomorrow week and will spend the next month together in London.
