Two killed in separate road crashes

A woman has died in a road accident in Co Cavan.

It is understood the woman, who was in her 60s, stopped at the side of the road and was standing in front of her car when it rolled forward and struck her.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happed on the N3 at Aghalane, Belturbet at around 7.30pm.

A female passenger in the car was uninjured.

The road has been closed for a technical examination.

In the North, a woman died in a road crash in Co Antrim.

The 35-year-old died in the single vehicle crash on the Moira Road near Maghaberry at around 3.45pm.

The road was closed for a technical examination.
