One of the two men who was being questioned by gardaí about the murder of a Limerick man has been released.
Daniel Treacy, 35, was shot dead at a petrol station just outside Limerick city on Monday.
Gardaí say the 29-year-old man who was arrested in the hours shortly after the killing has been released from custody at Mayorstone Garda Station.
A second man, aged 29, who was arrested last Monday night is still in custody - his period of detention was extended last night for a further 24 hours.
Gardaí will have to return to the district court again tonight if he is to be held for questioning for another day.
