A burnt out car, which may have been used as a getaway vehicle, has been found by gardaí investigating the killing of a man at a petrol station in Limerick.

An appeal had been issued last night for help in tracing a 1996 Limerick registered red Toyota car.

The car was seen in the vicinity of the Topaz garage yesterday morning prior to 35-year-old Daniel Treacy being shot dead.

Two men are still being questioned by gardaí investigating the murder.

A 28-year-old was arrested yesterday morning a short time after the killing, and a second man was arrested last night.

The two are being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be detained for up to a week if necessary.

They are being questioned at the city's Mayorstone and Henry Street Station.
