A man has been killed and another man is in a serious condition in hospital following a road accident in Co Westmeath.
A car left the road and struck a pole on the Mullingar to Ballynacarrigy Road at Muleady's Cross at about 1.30am.
A 36-year-old man was killed and two others were injured, one seriously.
Witnesses to the incident have been asked to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044-9384000, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800-666111 or any garda station.
