Russia is to resume imports of Irish pigmeat.

The market, which had been worth over €12m a year, has been closed since the dioxin contamination crisis at the end of 2008.

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Brendan Smith said the Russian market for Irish pork products has considerable potential to grow.
