An aircraft that was forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport because of an unruly passenger was grounded after gardaí decided to carry out a search of the plane.
The captain requested permission to land after a man on board became difficult.
The Boeing 767 aircraft with 231 passengers and 11 crew on board was chartered by ArkeFly, which is the Dutch arm of TUI.
It was bringing passengers from Amsterdam to the Netherlands Antilles in the Caribbean.
The 44-year-old Dutch national was arrested by gardaí and airport police and is being questioned at Shannon Garda Station.
The aircraft was parked remotely at Shannon to allow for its flight time to expire.
Gardaí have finished searching the aircraft and it has been given the all-clear.
However, the plane is not likely to take off again until tomorrow.
A replacement aircraft was sent from Amsterdam to take the stranded passengers to the Caribbean.
