NAMA board members announced

The names of the nine board members of the National Asset Management Agency have been announced by Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan.

Former Revenue chairman Frank Daly will be chairman, and will step down from his current position as a public interest director at Anglo Irish Bank.

The nine board members include NAMA chief executive Brendan McDonagh and NTMA chief executive John Corrigan.

The other board members are: Eilish Finan, an independent consultant and former finance chief with AIG Global Investments; Michael Connolly, a former member of Bank of Ireland's senior management team and a member of the Financial Services Ombudsman council; chartered accountant Peter Stewart; Brian McEnery, a senior partner with accounting firm Horwath Bastow Charleton; and Dublin Transportation Office chairman Willie Soffe.

Stephen Seelig, who is currently working with the International Monetary Fund, will be appointed to the board next May when he retires from the IMF.

The Minister said more than 800 applications were received from people wanting to be board members.
