Two men are being questioned following an incident at a house in Westport, Co Mayo, early this morning.
A woman was injured in an assault and taken to Mayo General Hospital suffering from facial injuries. She was later transferred to Galway University Hospital.
There were about six adults and three children in the house at the time of the incident, which occurred between 3am and 4am this morning.
Gardaí were called and made the arrests following a series of altercations between members of a number of different families.
