A man in his early 20s has been shot dead in Beary's Cross in Co Limerick.
The shooting happened at area located on the main Tipperary road out of Limerick city and close to the turn-off for Caherconlish.
It is understood the victim died after being shot a number of times.
The scene has been sealed-off for technical examination and gardaí have also requested the assistance of the State Pathologist's Office.
