A man has been injured in a shooting in Tallaght in Co Dublin.
The victim was shot a number of times at his home in the Allenton estate at around 8pm this evening.
It is understood that he opened the door to a gunman who shot him in the chest.
The man has been taken to Tallaght Hospital and the scene of the shooting has been preserved for technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Allenton estate or anybody with any information to contact them at Tallaght.
