The flood of flood coverage on the front pages has subsided for the time being, except in the Irish Examiner, where the St Vincent de Paul Society says it has been overwhelmed by the public's response to an appeal for household items for flood victims. The Examiner carries a 24-page supplement of photographs of floods all around the country, which may come in handy for government and local authority planners in the years ahead.
