Drugs worth €400,000 seized in Carlow

A man has been arrested and a quantity of drugs seized in Carlow.

20kg of cannabis and 8kg of what is believed to be amphetamines were seized from a house near Leighlinbridge in Co Carlow yesterday.

The drugs are estimated to have a street value of up to €400,000.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is detained at Carlow Garda Station. He can be held for up to seven days.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit and local gardaí from Carlow, supported by the Garda National Drugs Unit, cooperated in the operation.
