Funerals of Galway crash victims

The funerals of two women, who were among four who died in a road accident on Tuesday in Galway, have taken place.

The funeral Mass for 19-year-old Sorcha Rose McLoughlin was held at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Dereens, Achill Island.

The funeral Mass for Theresa Molloy, also aged 19, was held in Leitir Mór in Co Galway.

19-year-old Marie Ní Chonaile from Baile na hAbhann in Connemara, and 20-year-old Sarah Byrne from Headford in Co Galway were buried yesterday.

The four friends, who were students at NUI Galway, died after their car collided with a lorry on Tuesday night.

A fifth woman remains critically ill in hospital.
